The University of Georgia Undergraduate Mock Trial Program has been called "the most fun team" in America, and is the largest undergraduate Mock Trial program in the United States.

Founded by students in 2004, UGA Mock Trial now boasts an overall team of 55 undergraduates, and is one of the few programs in the nation that is both entirely student-run and entirely student-coached.

This emphasis on students allows the program to provide unique leadership and coaching opportunities for undergraduates, and has resulted in numerous team and individual honors at invitational, regional, and national tournaments.

UGA Mock Trial has a history of success. Since 2007, our teams have competed in 24 tournaments, winning 28 team trophies and finishing in 1st place five times. Our team members received a total of 60 individual awards at those tournaments.

In our seven-year history, we have had 11 teams finish in the top-8 teams at Regionals, and qualified 11 teams to compete at Nationals.

In Spring 2010, UGA Mock Trial became the only student-coached Mock Trial program in the United States to qualify all four of its Regionals teams for Nationals. The only student-coached program that accomplished this feat in 2009 was Harvard University. Also in 2010, UGA was the only student-coached program to qualify two teams to the National Championship. UGA was one of only three programs in the nation to achieve the maximum number of bids to Nationals and the National Championship, and the only one without coaches.

In Fall 2009, UGA Mock Trial hosted the First Annual Classic City Invitational Mock Trial Tournament at the UGA School of Law. The tournament featured teams from 14 universities in six states, and was entirely student-run, a rare accomplishment for an undergraduate Mock Trial tournament.

Our active members include graduates of some of the finest high school Mock Trial teams in Georgia and other states, as well as students who did not compete in Mock Trial in high school.

While many of our members are Honors students, declared Pre-Law, or students with majors in the School of Public and International Affairs (SPIA), we also welcome members from a variety of majors who may or may not be interested in pursuing a career in law after graduation. We consider this diversity to be a great strength of our program.

Many of our alumni attend outstanding law schools, including Harvard University, the University of Virginia, Georgetown University, UNC - Chapel Hill, and the University of Georgia.
