UGA Wins 1st and 3rd at Miami

11.2.09 UGA's teams brought home 1st and 3rd at the University of Miami's inaugural Hurricane Invitational.
UGA's 1st place team finished 7-1, had a point differential of +67, and had a combined strength of 17.5. They also won both ballots against 4th place Washburn.
UGA's 3rd place team finished 6-2, had a point differential of +74, and had a combined strength of 20.5. They were the only team in the top 5 to play two top five teams -- winning both ballots against 5th place Howard University and dropping both to 2nd place South Florida.
The competing UGA teams also tied for the most individual awards of any team at the tournament with four. Curry Andrews ('11), Brian Mink ('11), and Ethan Treacy ('12) won Outstanding Attorney awards, and Alex Galvan ('11) won an Outstanding Witness award.
Notably, while the Georgia-Florida football rivalry game was taking place in Jacksonville, both of UGA's Mock Trial teams were beating both of the University of Florida's Mock Trial teams. UGA 's 1st place team won by 10 and 13, and UGA's 3rd place team won by 14 and 16.
